Autodesk is currently telling its customers:
"…we’ll help you transition to a plan for named users through trade-in offers that keep your costs consistent today and predictable to 2028"
In 2020, how can we be sure of this? 8 years is a long time.
Autodesk has made numerous changes to licensing/pricing/subscription just in the past few years. Why wouldn’t things change again in 2023? Or 2024?
- Perpetual licenses switched to more expensive Desktop Subscriptions.
- Design Suites switched to more expensive Collections.
- Multi-User subscriptions are going away completely.
- Maintenance costs are increasing substantially (we were told differently last year, in the “Move to Subscription” FAQ dated April 2019).

Does Autodesk expect these latest changes to improve their reputation with longtime customers?
