Thoughts on the new Autodesk billing process?

I'm curious what other people's thoughts on the new Autodesk Bill process are.

I'm not happy with it for the fact that it assumes the person requesting the quote will be the person placing the order. That is not how my company works and I'm guessing a lot of businesses. In the past I would request a quote, review it, and upon it being correct forward it to our accounting team and then within a few days new or renewed licenses magically appeared. This process no longer works with the new billing process and the last 3 orders we have tried placing have taken a week or more to work out as our accounting team is not setup to purchase things the way Autodesk wants.

I work for a County Government. They make the billing work that way for us. Possibly because we can only order through their government reseller.

It'd be nice if Autodesk could be more accommodating for little companies. The best our reseller could do is copy me and the accounting email on quotes. Which means our accounting department could get multiple quotes they shouldn't order while I review and request updates. Then when we get a good quote to order from I'll have to alert accounting to order it and hope whoever is handing orders that day knows the convoluted Autodesk website order process.

Pretty much the same here. I do note on the Autodesk account page: Billing and Orders > Invoces and credit memos there's a Manage payers option below the Payer number field:

I guess an additional e-mail address will receive the bill as well?

Well this is odd. My Invoices and credit memos page doesn't have that. Either I'm not as much of an admin as I thought I was or Autodesk is just giving different people different options.

If i could summarise their new processes it would be "Awful"

Autodesk decided in their wisdom to not allow our reseller to resell their product and force us to come directly.

I then have to juggle multiple requests, going to various business units of our organisation with various payers.

Autodesk have zero linkage between a subscription and a payment, despite us making payments on time, they can't associate the payments, they then put our account on stop.

i've had two subscriptions cancelled, even though we have paid, and now they have our money! I now have two users unable to perform their day jobs.

The chat function is outsourced and completely worthless, they make unsubstantiated promises and then just terminate the chat if they can't answer a question.

Do you all by chance go through a reseller to set up your Autodesk Purchases?

Yes and it used to be a nice experience until Autodesk forced their direct billing into everything.

That may be why you cannot replicate the screenshots the others are mentioning here.
