I have installed SoftImage 2014 on my computer and I thought I had all the relevant files installed. But when I started going into "The SoftImage XSI v5.0 Tutorials 1" manual, I couldn't find any of the scene files for any of the tutorials. It says in the manual the files are on the DVD. I am a student using the student version of SoftImage 2014. Is there any way I can access the project files in order to do these tutorials? Thanks for any answer, be it yes or no, just so I can go on to something else if I can't get the files. The first file in the tutorials has to do with cobblestones.

Well, the v5 tutorials are more than 8 years old, so I'm not surprised that the scene files are hard to track down.

Anyway, a lot has changed since then  -- not everything, obviously, but in many cases there are better tools and techniques available now (not to mention all of ICE).

There are some newer tutorials available on the Softimage Learning Channel: http://www.youtube.com/softimagehowtos. They don't cover the whole software yet, but it's growing.

You can find plenty more tutorials if you seearch the web. A good place to start is http://www.si-community.com/community/index.php, specifically the Tutorials and ICE Tutorials forums.
