Copying UVs without GATOR

I'm in need of advice on how to copy UVs from one object to an exact copy of that same object, without using GATOR (Ideally, I would have unwrapped before I copied the object, but I had just assumed it would work fine afterwards). Usually I would just use "Connect to Projection", or just copy the UVs in the explorer from one object to another, but it's not working.

I think my problem lies in the fact that I am unwrapping using Headus UVLayout, and when I reimport my unwrapped OBJ, it has texture coordinates and a projection that's perfect, but it doesn't have a texture support. When I try to connect another object to this projection, or try copying the UVs to another object, it says "Invalid Objects used for creating texture". However, if I give the same object any projection within XSI, I am able to spread that from one object to another. I can't seem to find a way to share a texture support to the Headus unwrapped OBJ either.

Is there some kind of work around or am I just going to have to bite the bullet and unwrap in XSI? I would really rather not but if I have to...

Well, I found an answer to my problem and will post it just in case anyone ever comes here with the same problem. I posted over on XSIbase and got some replies that helped me. Turns out I was missing a big part of the proper workflow, and that was to assign a texture projection to the object prior to exporting to Headus. Once I had done that, when I reimported, I could just copy paste the UVs from my unwrapped object onto the others. Yay.

That fixed everything, so long as I imported it all into a new XSI scene... for some reason the scene I was working in wouldn't allow me to paste the UVs in, it just turned them into an exploded mess. Very odd. I did have a lot of objects in the scene (some 800 because I never merged anything and it's and environment) so maybe it just couldn't handle it.

In any case, there it is. Thanks to anyone who even looked at this thread. If anyone has an idea why my original scene wouldn't allow me to paste uvs in, please explain, otherwise, my problems have been resolved.
