can't export OBJ

 

Softimage 7.5

 

I've imported a .OBJ i made with maya 2012 to tweek the shape with some of the easier tools in Softimage.

 

I go to export it back to Maya in OBJ format and .... it's grayed out.

 

 

What would cause an object to not be exportable as an OBJ from Softimage?

What could cause SoftImage to have it's OBJ export option grayed out?

 

I haven't had luck finding the answer on google.

 

And i'm very new with Softimage so please talk to me like i'm 4.

And - are SoftImage Mod Tool and SoftImage the same thing?
