Built in Time-Lapse Recording for Windows 10 Versions of Sketchbook

The Time-Lapse Record feature for the mobile apps is brilliant.  Why not offer that with the more powerful Windows versions?  I know there are screen-cast recorders out there like Autodesk Screencast, but that requires a 3rd party app, and  a lot of video editing afterwards.  Having it built right into the app, and recording only when you are making strokes on the canvas is a much more eloquent, efficient and effective option.  I'm finding that using 3rd party options is really hindering and getting in the way my art.  It is a daunting discouragement.

Please port this feature over from the mobile apps to the Windows 10 apps.  I would be so thankful.

I have the same problem. Time lapse is really a killer feature! It would be really great if you could implement this in windows too! Is there any news yet?

i really don't understand why time lapse recording would not be available to the more professional artists that use Surface Pro's and styluses for their art. This is essential to show followers your progress and how you accomplished certain things. Please add it to Windows 10 version!!

This is a feature I would LOVE to have. I already prefer making my art here over photoshop and I would love for all my stroke history or something to be recorded to a file to be able to export a video out of or something.

i have been a Surface Pro user since the very beginning and Sketchbook is a big part of why. Since i discovered that Time Lapse is available on Apple, i am a bit dumbfounded.

Why not on PC since PC is such a big user of Autodesk products???

pls transfer this functionality over to PC asap.

It's an amazing feature and such a shame it's not available on the more robust platform like windows 10. I'd be willing to pay some money just to have it added to the tool list. Love the application in any case; great work.

^Agree with all above. I would LOVE this time lapse recording feature to be available when using this program on Windows PC with a stylus tablet. I love the time lapse feature a lot on my mobile device with another similar drawing program I use (Infinite Painter). Not having that when I go to use Sketchbook on my Windows PC is the only thing that is a bit of a bummer. It'd be a dream come true if it'd become available in the near future!

*I agree--it's much more efficient for the time-lapse to just record the strokes made...not particularly "filming" all the lengthy in-between moments as a screen recorder outside the program would.

I bought a Surface specifically because I expected it to run the Sketchbook timelapse recording that I've used on my Samsung Note tablets that have finally died. I thought that with more power and capabilites the new tablet would work even better with Autodesk Sketchbook... Please bring it to Windows. (And maybe some of the streamline interface options too.) And I love the product. It's been the best out there for what I do.

YESS PLEASE!! I would love to have this feature since I can't afford a good tablet and have to use my brothers old surface pro. A lot of people have requested it. How long do we had to wait!!!!

I just ran into this problem and it is very frustrating that the screen recording feature is not available in the desktop Windows PC. I really liked Sketchbook properties of the painting brushes, it looks like a real oil painting. It works differently in Photoshop. I've also been considering Krita for digital painting. They have announced a time-lapse screen recording feature for the painting process in version 5.0, which is coming out soon. The recording features are the same as in the mobile Sketchbook where the recording goes while you're drawing.

I really hope that such a necessary feature will appear in Sketchbook soon.
