Undo/Redo stop, then program freezes.

This is a relatively recent issue.

I bought Sketchbook for my tablet late 2015 and later installed it on my desktop in mid-2016. It wasn't until about five to six months ago that this issue started to occur to maddening levels. I'm currently running 8.5.1 Desktop Version.

It will generally start with not wanting to use undo/redo in the toolbar, but key commands still work. Then the other options on the toolbar will no longer respond. I can typically still draw, but eventually, layers will stop responding, and it will freeze until I enter task manager and mess around with its priority on the pc or force quit it. Then I normally have anywhere from 30 minutes to 4 hours before it will re-occur.

I've reset preferences, uninstalled/reinstalled sketchbook, upgraded to windows 10, (it originally ran on 8) have upgraded my RAM, graphics card, and recently had to install a whole new motherboard and processor; the reason was unrelated to this app, but I still found myself hoping that it would help.

It didn't.

I can't say that it crashes because I have yet to get a single error. It just systematically stops allowing me to use pieces of it; either starting with undo/redo or occasionally steady stroke.

Please, for the love of all that is holy, help me. It only started to occur after an upgrade in the program a while back, and it was long enough ago that I can no longer remember the version that the issue didn't happen in so that I could just wipe the bloody thing and install that instead. I can't tell you if it happens with the Windows 10 version because I would rather go back to GIMP or Photoshop than pay for a subscription that has less than half of the tools.

You have done all the troubleshooting steps that I would do...

1. Reinstall Windows.

2. Install SketchBook

3. Test

4. Install other Apps. i..e Photoshop etc.

I would see if there is a conflict with another program.  I would check if you can uninstall any of the 3rd party apps that you may have installed.  For example, on Dell/Alienware, there is this issue....

It's not a Dell or Alienware, but I do appreciate the link. The issue occurred even after I did a complete reformat on my PC and had only Sketchbook, chrome, and Windows necessary programs installed. I've never had 3rd party apps installed, unless you count the brushes available on the site, and those weren't installed during the first attempt after the reformat.
