lost pressure sensitivity

I am using a 12.9 inch iPad (about 5 years old) with iOS 13.3, an Apple stylus, and Sketchbook Pro. Recently, for no reason I can determine, my stylus stopped being pressure sensitive and will only draw uniform lines.  I have tried several different pen connection settings, I have changed my stylus tip, and I have entirely reinstalled the app, but nothing has solved the problem. Part of my frustration is that I can’t figure out if the problem lies at the hardware level, system level, or Sketchbook level.

In every other way, Sketchbook and the stylus seem to be working fine.

Suggestions would be welcome, especially if anyone else has had this problem.

You need to sync it to the Apple Pencil via SketchBook.

Go to the section:

Thank you for your suggestion and the link. Yes, I'd done that already and resynched several times. The pens and brushes draw normally, just without pressure-sensitive line-weight changes.
