Flood Fill Tool leaves a slight boarder between fill and line.

Hello. I'm using version 8.6 on windows 10 and whenever I try to fill line art there is a small border between the fill and the line. I even moved tolerance all the way up to 255. how do i fix this? thanks.

Depending on the contrast this is possible and not unusual. Sometimes you can fix this by filling 2 times. Can you upload your file somewhere?

Ok, I see…

you don't have a chance to fill this seamless cause of using the "Sample all layers" function.

When I'm working with outlines and having a background to fill, I often copy the outline layer and fill the shapes on this copy. So you can use "sample on" instead of "Sample all layers" and there will be no border around.

Another way is to paint around your filled shapes, cause they are already on a separate layer. This is very fast and easy to do, too.

Can you tell me more about your problem and what you are trying to do?
Maybe you can submit your file with an example?

Well I see it, but I don't understand it. Can you submit the file?

When "sample all layers" is deactivated you should be able to increase the tolerance slightliy so that there should be no border around. Except your your outline has something abound it.
How have you drawn the outline? Simply with a brush?

Found the issue.

If you choose the layer transparency locking, it will leave a small trail, even if you change tolerance.

The way to use is to,

1. dont select transparency lock.

2. With bucket tool, set the tolerance to almost last unit ( not to 100% ),

then it will fill correctly. If you make it tolerance 100%, it will fill the canvas, if you keep it low, it will leave trail.

You can also click multiple times to fill it.

This worked for me, thought might help someone, hence leaving a message here
