Custom tools for Surface Dial

I assigned a custom task, keyboard shortcut alt+I (color picker), to my surface dial through windows wheel settings for the windows 10 app. When trying to use it in app it does not work. Is there a way to use color picker from the dial on a surface pro 4?

Can you try using "i" by itself?  I tried to map it to the Window 10 version of SketchBook but I was not able to get it to work.  Have you tried it with 'other' apps?

Thanks for the suggestion. I did try using 'i' by itself with no luck. I also could not get it to work in sketchable.
