app crashed when saving and deleted all my progress

( sorry english is not my first language )

I was trying to save my finished work and then while trying to save my work the app crashed and when i started it up again it had somehow reverted back to the earliest sketch i made days ago. The image that the app managed to save was also thet sketch and not my finished work. Whenever i closed the app previous times it went to my latest progress and assumed everything was fine.

is there no proper way to actually SAVE and make backups so this wont happen again? this is very discouraging and depressing losing something I've spent days on...

im using samsung galaxy tab s3 btw

Your Samsung Tab S3 is a solid device.  We have one (North American version) and it should not be problematic.

I would start doing this:

1. To save a copy or version a file on the Mobile platform:

a. Start Sketch
b. Go to Gallery and start a new Sketch, It will ask you to save the file.
c. Go to the Gallery and start a new Sketch again and it will ask you to save the file.
d. Open the first Sketch and work on it.
e. Go to Gallery and start new sketch and choose the "Save as a Copy" option.

2. All sketches are local to the device. You need to back it up manually:

On Android, it's pretty easy, just copy the files from /Autodesk/SketchBook3 and copy it to your desktop computer. You can use the desktop version of SketchBook to complete our work (www.sketchbook.com/thankyou)

To re-import the file, you need to do this:

I am sorry to tell you that if the file is 'saved', there is no way to get the file back.  Also, if you were in the middle of a Time-Lapse, it can crash hard when it runs out of memory.
