A licensing mess that makes me fear for my brushes

Hi

I used to have a student license. It expired and the software never got the memo that it went free. I'm scared of reinstalling as it may drop my brushes in the uninstall. Trying to reinstall without uninstalling still results in the licensing dialogue.

The live support link I found on the product page got me into an infuriatingly unproductive discussion. (See transcript)

Can anyone reassure me I can uninstall and not lose my custom brushes? Or let me know what I can do to get rid of the licensing requirement. I can see the path of asking for a student license extension but playing this game every year is more hassle than its worth

Thanks in advance

BACKUP your SketchBook Settings files.  It is noted here:

http://help.autodesk.com/view/SKETPRO/ENU/?guid=SKETPRO_Help_sb_basics_back_files_settings_html

I have included 2 screen captures (mac) of the location of the FREE and PRO settings.  They are interchangeable.  The URL above has info on how to get all the instructions to get to the Windows locations for the SketchBook settings.

The free download is here:  www.sketchbook.com/thankyou

Just move the .xml files to the appropriate locations and you should be good to go.
