Sim Mech 2018 won't run after windows update

After yesterday's windows 10 update, Sim Mech 2018 crashes when any analysis is run.  Anyone know what is going on and what to do about it?

Thanks,

George

Hi @Anonymous

Just to confirm,

  1. By "crash", does the software shutdown? Or just some error during the analysis?
  2. Does the problem occur with any model, such as a simple cantilever beam and a linear static analysis? Or is it related to the model or analysis type?

This article describes some problems that may be occurring: Interface crashes with a CER when analysis is started in Simulation Mechanical. One of the first 3 solutions may be the answer.

If the problem is related to the Simulation Job Manager (meaning the software crashes when you start the analysis), a short term solution to "keep you going" would be to perform the analysis from a command prompt. It's actually pretty easy with the batch file attached to the following article, once you setup a few things in the batch file. See How to run an analysis from the command prompt (DOS window) in Simulation Mechanical.

Let us know what you find out.
