Exporting only a part

Hello everybody, I have 40 parts in my model. They have their own cad parts. And i made new parts in simulation mechanical editor. And totaly i have 43 parts. The 3 parts which i created after, don't have cad parts. Now i want to make another analysis with some common parts. I need to export those 3 parts which i created in FEA editor. Is there a way to use the parts which are created in FEA editor at onother model? Thank you. Ugur ERSOY

Hi Ramses061,

It is not possible to export non-CAD parts to a CAD format from Simulation Mechanical. If you are going to create parts for simulation, I recommend doing so in SimStudio Tools which is included for free with 2016 and 2017. This will also allow you to maintain load and boundary condition associtivity when making changes to your geometry.

Regards,

Andrew

Hi Ugur

In the results environment, you can make a new FEM file. (see image 2)

Make sure you are looking at the deformed shape in the "As an absolute value" option and "0" "Scale factor" in the results environment (see image 1)

then you can "Merge" that fem file into another FEM file (see image 3)

this will bring in all 43 parts in to the new fem file in your case

you will have to suppress the 40 unwanted parts before analyzing the new FEM file
