AlgAdmin OS platform interfacing does not shutdown

When I end Simulation, I cannot restart Simulation without either:

  1. A complete shutdown and restart.
  2. Use the Task Manager to end AlgAdlm OS platform interfacing.

By the way, the Task Manager says that AlgAdlm OS platform interfacing is using 25% to 39% of the CPU after Simulation has been closed.

Is this a unique problem?  Is there a workaround other than using the Task Manager to end AlgAdlm OS platform interfacing?

I've had that problem.  I get that window that says something else is using the process, or something to that effect.  The options in that window is Retry or Switch To..., both of which do nothing useful.  I just had the issue, went into Windows Task Manager, and shut down the Autodesk Manager process (note: not the app, but under the process tab), and immediately Autodesk Simulation appeared.  I'll do it again when it happens...might be better than having to re-boot my computer.

I can't wait for completely autonomous, automated cars....lol....

Hi,

Just a quick follow-up on this issue. Until a fix is released (and development is working on a fix), the work around is to open the Windows Task Manager, go to the "Processes" tab, and use "End Process" to end all of the "algframe.exe" and "algadlm.exe" entries.

Hi everyone,

Simulation Mechanical 2017 Service Pack 1 (SP1) has been released, and it includes a fix for this issue. Please see https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/simulation-mechanical/downloads to download the update.
