Showcase 2017 problems

Greetings !  I need some help !

I moved from version 2016 to 2017.

In 2017 it imports a Revit model but without materials. All materials in the model are black or blueand locked.

You can't add new material libraries and you don´t see Autodesk material libraries anymore.

The sample scenes that come with the program are OK (Perhaps because they use materials from builtin libraries).

The same problems happens on two machines with Windows 10 x64.

On version 2016 all worked perfectly.

All other programs included in the package work well (Buildin Design Suite Premium)

Does anyone know any possible solution ?

Surprise

I reinstalled Revit 2016 and it works perfectly with Showcase 2017. So, maybe the problem is in Revit and in the process of exporting to Showcase (or importing in Showcase from Revit).

(By the way, it doesn't allow you to reinstall Showcase 2016).

Second surprise

After reinstalling Revit 2016, I can now export from Revit 2017 to Showcase 2017, it means that the first problem is solved now, but I don´t dare to uninstall Revit 2016 again.

Maybe some component is missing in Revit 2017 instalation.

Does anybody experienced the same problem ?

As I said, in the first post, this happened in two machines.

Good News

You don´t have to reinstall Revit 2016 ! It works if you only reinstall the older material libraries.

Showcase 2017 will use the 2016 libraries; it doesn´t see the new ones. (I don't know why).

do you have a document with eventual new features of the 2017 release?
i'm looking for them here around, but can't find any..

just to understand if they added something or it's just a rename as per 2015 and 2016

There are no new features.

The only thing that is updated is the file import for the 2017 release.

The development team is stoped developing at the Showcase platform.

So I think Showcase is at the end of his life and will be replaced by a other product.

Maybe VRED Design.

Hi

There is no new improvement in Showcase 2017 (at least I can´t see one).

I think they only changed the name and forgot to update some program lines; That's why it only works with the material libraries version 2016.

I am using Showcase for the first time.  Our company just recently updated to 2017.  I want to import an Inventor .iam into Showcase, but when I do some of the parts are misplaced.  I looked at my assembly and the parts are constrained correctly.

Has anyone experienced this?
