Scaleform crashes on Unity 4

Howdy,

I grabbed the Unity 4 beta to start digging into the new features and attempting to run my app crashes the beta IDE.

I then built a Windows standalone to test things out and it ran fine, until I closed the app and it crashed. Here's the stacktrace in the crash logs:

Thank you for the crash report. I'll pass this on to the team; however, please bear in mind that the currently released Scaleform SDK was designed for Unity 3.5.

I figured as much, since it literally just rolled out yesterday. 🙂 I was crossing my fingers that it'd just "magically work." 🙂

With our team prepping to integrate the DX11 capabilities of Unity 4, this will become more important in our UI solution research.

Is it safe to assume that the Scaleform solution will be able to run in Unity 4 "soon"?

That would be a safe assumption; however, please do not make any purchase decision based on that assumption.

No worries. We're waiting for a couple of other things before we lock down on Scaleform:

- Gamepad functionality
- Alignment bugs fixed (based on another person's previous thread)
- Unity 4 support

Once those are integrated, we'll be ready to consider lockdown.
