ROBOT-REVIT Interoperability : Transfer Models and results WITHOUT Loads

Hi Everyone,

The idea is when transferring model only from Robot to Revit , we should maybe have an option that prevents loads from being transferred.

The loads still exist in the original Robot model, but only the analytical panels and their results are transferred.

Hi Nader,

This is a great idea! I would like to add a suggestion:

When clicking on "Transfer the Model," it would be very helpful if we had an option to review and choose specific elements or specifications to update—both from Revit to Robot and from Robot to Revit.

For example:

  • Sometimes, we might want to send only load changes from Revit to Robot.
  • Other times, we may want to update material properties (e.g., columns and beams) but not the dimensions.

Having a clear list of changes to select from would give us much more control and flexibility in the workflow, and time reduction.

That being said, I wonder—does anyone know if Autodesk is still actively developing RSA and listening to user requests?

Hi @WALIDGIO,

Thank you for your valuable suggestion!

I completely agree that having the ability to selectively transfer specific elements or properties between Revit and Robot would greatly enhance control and efficiency.

Regarding RSA, there are still many unresolved interoperability issues between Revit and RSA, such as the handling of loads on panels transferred from Revit, among others.

Unfortunately, we are still waiting for improvements.

It seems that the program’s core has limitations that prevent significant modifications, which might explain the lack of major updates.

Best regards,

Nader
