A joint that has been setup in Robot, can it be transfered to IDEA? Or else, can (a combination of) forces that have been generated in Robot be transfered to IDEA?
Thank you YarUnderoaker, i just tested it and i can say that i am very satisfied with this option!! I didn't expect such an adequacy in this type of collaboration..! (very often, such kind of transactions between different software packages are not very reliable, but this one seems very much o.k !).
1. Only few of the load combintaions already generated in Robot, were finaly transfered to IDEA.
2. The sign convention of the axial forces of members is the opposite of IDEA's, so in order all forces to be balanced (i.e to be in equilibrium) in IDEA, we have to change them manually.
If you have any kind of comment about the above, please let me know.
I suppose that this add-in is available through the subscription center(?).
However, the issues that i mentioned above they still exist in the latest IDEA's version 6.2.8 (when i am calling a Robot project through the BIM tool of IDEA).
Thanks for your answer. I know that I can import a Robot Model in Idea Statica BIM and then I can choose a node and create a joint with Idea Connection. In the video the process is different, because with the add-in they choose a node in Robot and they export directly to Idea Connection without using Idea BIM. I tried to look for the add-inn in my subscription page but I didn't find anything.
I want to add that with previous IDEA's version you could import Robot model but the internal force was read the wrong way, for example Idea changes the sign of Fx.
