Hi every body,

Please, can some one help me?

Usually,i put the Peak velocity pressure,qp (4.8)  in the case of wind pressure or Mean wind velocity,Vm(Z) (4.3) in the case of wind velocity .  1)for example in  z(0) i have Mean wind velocity,Vm(Z)=17.52m/s  and Peak velocity pressure=0.61 Kn/m²  but when i put the value of pressure 0.61kn/m² i don't find the equivalent velocity 17.52 m/s. i find 31,82 m/s   please see pictures:

Dear @saraingenieur ,

 

The first note that I have to do is that the wind load simulation is not a code wind load generator, but a CFD fem solutor that apply loads after a simulation, that need to define bonduary conditions.

In wind load simulation tha bonduary conditions are:

  1. Direction of wind;
  2. Wind velocity or pressure;
  3. Pressure curve, that is the most important one.

The pressure curve it depend by the dimensions of your structure, and the height of the tunnel is incredibly important to run a wind load analysis that can be compared with the design code loads.

In your post, you didn't talk about the pressure curve, the tunnel height, so, will be important to add some details to evaluate your issue.

 

Please, post here screenshots of your model and the pressure curve diagram, so that we can be more specific.

Thank you for your reply.

Usually, I calculate the Mean wind velocity,Vm(Z)  as paragraph 4.3.1 of eurocode 1  and the Peak velocity pressure,qp as paragraph 4.5 of eurocode 1 using excel calculation sheet. When I generate the simulation wind I put the Peak velocity pressure in wind pressure case in the wind parameters.

For example: terrain category 0 and Basic wind velocity 26 m/s in height =0 , I have the result as below:

I put it in robot as below:

And in wind profile, I calculate the Vm(z)/ Vm(zmin) of Z=0 to Z=50m

  • Why the wind velocity calculated by robot in Z =0 is different of Vm calculated as eurocode ?
  • The method that I us is correct ?The Wind profile is correct?
