Hi Guys,

Is there a way to create a custom connection in robot structural analysis for connection check.

Also can we check connections where steel bolts embedded in wood

Hi @shyamsundar.c

Actually it is not possible to calculate arbitrary steel connection geometry in Robot Structural Analysis.

Connection can de defined by modifying available templates. Refer to the following article  available connection types . There is no solution for steel/timber connections as well.

hi @shyamsundar.c

You can create a spreadsheet in Excel and link the geometry and forces of your assembly with the model using Result Connect or through the API.

Dear @shyamsundar.c

It does not exist a software that can do everything, by the way, I often use this trick to manage unusual connections. After I've closed the main model, I made a copy of it for the connections design, in which I can verify the covered connections by Robot, and for the ones that are unmanageble I made a shell model for all the elements of the connection, using rigid links, nl support or release and round bar for bolts.

The picture below can show a little what I'm telling

Hope I help you, have a nice day.
