On steel design , yes , if you choose Robot to design the choosen bar.
It will choose the section that better suits the criteria (weight, height,etc) among the portfolio of sections choosen by the user.

For beam it can be If you control this option shown in the picture:

For Columns It was before available but since they start to use the extension for changing column dimensions it became not available.
