Hi @Anonymous

 

The consistent one us recommended for a model where you have no nodes along bar elements and your aim is to find out the exact values of eigenfrequencies (e.g. to avoid a resonance) whereas the lumped for model with many nodes (e.g. multi-story building and seismic analysis) where you need to reach 90% participating mass and the exact shape of vibrations is a secondary objective.

Hi,

I am designing a curved roof structure supported on the main station structure. I have used lumped mass for dynamic behavior calculation. Could you please advise on which nodes will the lumped mass be concentrated? Will it be at each node intersection?
