In the connection design described in the figure below, Autodesk Robot is using a value of e1 = 40 mm, which influences the value of alpha_bx for the continuous chord member, which in turn influences the bearing capacity. Where did this value of 40 mm come from, considering that I didn't specify it (see the figure below)?
