You can use the Section Database browser (Tools > Section Database) and delete lines from user database whichis located in C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Structural\Common Data\201x  folder.

Hi,

I am trying to overwrite a previously created user section but the data base won't let me overwrite the section.

I have tried editing the Ruserpro database but the sections I have created don't appear in it.

Where can I find the user created profiles database to delete them and start afresh?

This suggests that you have more than one user section database and the one you look at is not the one you save the profile to. Try to search for ruserpro.xml files on your computer.

The default location of the user database is C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Structural\Common Data\201x\

Artur,

I have tried opening all of the Ruserpro.xml files from my RSAP 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 folder (currently working in RSAP 2016) and have the same problem.

I have tried saving the section to the test family, which does work for the first save but then it still doesn't show in the user profiles database but does show in the section selection.

But I want to be able to delete sections and overwrite them.

My understanding is that you searched only the default folder but you may also have this file saved / copied somewhere else instead.

Try the steps from the attached picture:

Hi Artur,

I have searched all of the C drive and loaded the user section databases from all of the found paths but when the databases open they still only ever show the Test family of which the only section that appears is the default 4x8x0.5 section.

Therefore I can't overwrite any sections with the same name that I have updated as I can't find them to remove/overwrite them.

You may try to switch on display of hidden files if by any chance it is attributed like this or located in the hidden folder. On the other hand have you tried to follow the steps I proposed. If you set the the same database in Job Preference as the one you open in the Section Browser. In such case there should be one of these situations:

1. Either you have the warning that the section already exists but you can see it in the Section Browser (and delete it from there)

2. You can't see this section in the Section Browser and you can save the new section in the user section database with no issue.

You may restart Robot after making changes in Job Preferences.

Hi @Artur.Kosakowski
I am having problems with design verification of user defined section. Internal stresses are not being computed. Please see the image below.
