underground rectangular water tank design

 its showing some warnings...plus i need wall RC design results to compare with the staad model......SP is soil pressure and Wp is water pressure.....can any one check the model...if any mistakes r there pls info me soon.....i need area of steel required in each wall....i have give planar support.....because i staad pro i was thinking to give spring support....can we give spring support in robot structural analysis....if yes....pls info me soon.....

Yes, you can define planar supports in Robot. I'd suggest watching the recording of the 5th RSA webinar which is available from here.

i attached the warning its showing.....i am publishing a paper of comparative study between staad pro and RSA......i will come back to u ...once the paper is done...if u can give any feedback ...it will be good....

Hi @Anonymous,

Your soil pressure (SP) can also be modeled better under special loads rather than uniform planar loads.soil.png

 

 

I also think you can refine your mesh to a better degree. I like using;

 

a = 2h ; 1/10 x l ...whichever is smaller. Where a is element size, h is plate thickness and l is the shorter span of the panel (from a post I saw on this forum Smiley Happyhttps://forums.autodesk.com/t5/robot-structural-analysis-forum/finite-element-mesh-size/td-p/3752226 props to igos

If the material properties assigned to the panels are correct then you can ignore it.
