timber verification helped with corrupted database

Dear Artur,

I m struglling  to verify timber structures after  you made the tuturial. I find robot  timber section verification became no userfriendly. when you created last time  you step by step  procedure, you  skipped many steps.  when I used to use Robot Millenium i didnt have these types problems when verifying timber  elements. can you please correct my model.can you help me with:

                           1) the current  section are timber C16, if are not adequate section  can you verify for timber grade C24 IF still fails,i may propose the use   or steel beam and   rectangular  hollow sections for the  posts.

I am doing an structural  assessment if you can help me  by creating a proper steps by step procedure how to avoid  CORRUPTED DATABASE .your help always appreciated.

Thank you

Ernesto

Dear Ernesto

It is not possible to run timber design in your model because there are no member types assigned to bars

PLease look firts at steel design webinar (timber design is very similar)

Example video (I did not play with design parameters, just used default ones to show you design philosophy)

Dear Rafal,

Can  you upload the model you  corrected please.  can  you also send me the link of the webnair ur mentioned it. However, it would be great if you or Artur ellaborate stept by step procedure pdf . we have Robot Licence in Office but at the moment  I m pretty much usign my own spreadsheet to verify timber elements. When I used Robot Millennium I didnt encounter these sort of problems.

Thank you very much Artur/ Rafal

Hello Ernesto,

I have looked at your model and made it work, see attachment.

First i selected the beams and assigned them to a Member type: Timber beam, see screen. I did the same for the columnssigned.

I combined bar 2 and 4 to a supermember (bar 10) and assigned Timber column auto.

Good luck!

Thank you Rafal.

Regarding  API and  excel  using ESOP. further my conversation  with Artur.I was told that you are specialised  develeping API .

Can you please:

1:  refer me to API tutorial  for Beginners either pdf files or videos links either here or in AUTODESK University website

2: ellaborate a PDF tutorial on robot spreadsheet calculator(the below  video by Tomaz Fudala) just gives an overview on spreadsheet calculator which no enough at all.

3.does Robot spreadsheet calculator  work within excel 2007 and 2010 only?

4 or perhaps  you with Artur and Tomasz can creat a webinar about how to use efficiently robot spreadsheet calculator:

Robot Structural Analysis 2011 - Spreadsheet Calculator - Part 1

Robot API documentation, examples, tutorials are installed as Software Developer Kit (SDK) installation toghether with Robot from INstall Tools &

Utilites,  or directly from media: \x64\Tools\RSASDK

See next webinar on 18.11 : "Results Connect , Robot API, Dynamo"

Open sheet, fill data or import data from robot, look at results

Yes, 2007, 2010 - both 32 bit.

It was developed years ago before developing Excel 2013 by Microsoft

No plans for having it for Excel 2013.

question 4: no planned webinar?

WHat is ineteresting in it to make webinar for it?

Just start it, load any sheet you want, fill data like in Excell in cells with blue texts - that's all.

Hi Rafal,

in practice  sometimes   we need to adjust to what we have in office.   for me I would install EXCEL 2010 OR 2007 but in the office they want us to work on excel 2013.I told them  Robot excel spreadsheet work on excel 2010 and 2014

. Regarding webninar.

of course i could play around with  it  but  we have time constraints at the moment. the prupose of a webinar is to give a better insight how to  optimise your time( I  USED FOR A WHILE THE FRENCH VERSION ESOP 2003 at the time ROBOBAT cALLED rOBOT MILLENIUM AND THEN FRENCH COMPANY OWNER OF ROBOT  MILLENNIUM USED TO  PROVIDE USEFUL  EXAMPLES ON  ROBOT SPREADHSEET DEVELOPMENT but now it outdated). I think as customer we  looking for that. i say Tomas Fudala  video    is pretty much limited i think he  keeps as secret it  that which shouldnt be that the case

NO, NO, NO

This is not developed anymore and it will not work on any excel 64 bit  and any Excel 2013, 2014 or any newer.
