Timber truss with and rigid link

Hello everyone,

I would like to model something like this:

It is an existing timber truss.

What kind of rigid link can I put between point A and point B?

In the reality, this is just a strip of steel to avoid the bottom chord to deflec.

In the picture:

Any help or any ideas?

Thnaks

Hi @Michele100100

The role of the tie-rod is to support the lower beam under its self-weight. The tie-rod is always in tension.

Then modelize the tie-rod as if it was continuous and forget the rigid connections.

The connection may be designed with the tie-rod tensile force
