Tilt Up - Concrete Wall Panel: Left and Right Boundary Help

For Robot 2017. I'm creating a variety of RC tilt up wall panels with different openings (windows, doors, garage bays). I'm designing RC based on ACI.  When I come to the RC component inspector the wall geometry asks to define left and right boundary elements. This section "D" can be modified but can't be 0. 

 

The tilt wall panels are being supported at pier at joints and I am modeling the structure with pinned connections at nodes at wall panel joints. 

Changing the wall panel to being fixed along its length , but this doesn't allow me to avoid deigning without the left and right boundary.

Robot refers to this issue but doesn't  specify the exact ACI code. 

Is there a way to design without the left and right boundary or increase spacing to match the interior?

You may try to set the panel structure object type to the floor and design reinforcement for internal forces in each of the element of a mesh rater than for the reduced forces for a wall if it is acceptable approach for you:

I'm not using BAEL but ACI. 

It seems RSA is lacking in ACI derived codes to back up its design? It's picking minimum reinforcement rather than taking into account out of plane / on plane bending, unbraced length, and slenderness. 

 

I'm analyzing wall panels as a whole structure, is it better to design them on the wall panel design project list?

RSA in general (regardless) of the code disregards buckling of RC walls for reinforcement design. As I'm not familiar with ACI could you indicate what are this code provisions for unbraced length and slenderness? How these factors influence the design of reinforcement? 

 

 

I'm analyzing wall panels as a whole structure, is it better to design them on the wall panel design project list?  

 

I'm not sure if I understand what you mean. could you give more detailed description please?
