Hello Robot Structural Analysis Support Team, Forum Members,
I have a question regarding the calculation of the Leff, for the T-Stub verification.
For a baseplate calculated as a simple joint, with inside bolts (1 or 2 rows of 2 bolts) the leff obtained from Robot Structural Analysis is bigger than the plate dimensions. I believe the EN 1993-1-8 does not limit leff based on the plate dimension, but shouldn't it be limited by its geometry?
For instance leff of a baseplate of 350 mm , according to RSA, is 505 mm (see image bellow).
Please let me know what is your opinion about this, and thank you for the attention!
Best Regards,
Mario Carvalho
