Hi,

how is best way to model STM elements in RSA. I'll draw with simple bars. Is it reasonable to change elastic modulus to infinitely high or....?

Thanks

Can you give an example of what you want/need?

I want to compile simple 3d model of bar members to get tension compression forces. Further STM "hand"-calcuculations are made.

You can get results like these on the picture , but for such a 3d model it is not possible to have only truss bars . RSA would report it as unstable.

I managed to get similar results, regarding axial forces ,by using bar elastic releases for the upper bars(all but columms).

Using very weak springs you can have a stable structure without having significant bending moments.
