Is it possible to use Manual verification via API in RSA 2015?
I used search and found old thread
http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/robot-structural-analysis/manual-calculations-for-steel-design-using-ap...
According to this thread "Manual verification" is not possible via API. I was just wondering if it is possible in newer versios of RSA.
I use EN 1993-1-1 design code (E32 in API). The problem is that utilization ratios for strength of cross-section are often missleading. For example, if cross-section has internal forces N + My the utilization ratio is 0,81. When I add Mz, the ratio will decrease to value 0,62. Please, see attachment.
This is obviously unrealistic result. The real utilization ratio for case N+My+Mz is somewhere between 0,81 and 1.
I would like to create macro that calculates real utilization ratios by increasing internal forces until maximum utilization ratio is 1,00. The reciprocal of load factor would be linearized utilization ratio, which would tell the real capacity of member. If this "linearised utilization ratio" would be 0,50, the member strength would be sufficient if I multiply all internal forces by 2.
It is possible to write internal forces to governing case via API, but I have not figured out how to calculate new utilization ratio with internal forces specified via API.
