Steel beam simply supported on ground

Hi,

Is there a way to model a steel beam which is supported on the ground. i tried to use the bar elastic ground feature but i got an instability of type 3 warning on node 4 (see attached) in direction Rx.

Please help

Yes sure. I have not defined the load nor the member definition yet.

It seems that this doesn't work with tapered member.

Replace I_ASYM-V1 by an IPE100 for example and for support and soil follow this thread
