Snapping to node location after using division tool

Hi,

When dividing a beam or column using the division toolbar (see attached pdf), I can not snap/connect a beam to that location when the node has been located for some reason? is there something I am missing? I have seen it done on a tutorial however I can not seem to do it. any suggestions/help would be appreciated.

it looks like your nodes are not set to be shown.

Unmark below and it will work.
