Slim Beams Design Extension by Robot API

Hello

I need to design a lot of steel Slim Floor Beams, but, as I get, Robot can not make all checks that should be done for such beams if they modeled as bar elements (local bottom flange bending, torsion, reduced beam bending, construction stage). Select appropriate cross-sections for 200 beams by modeling them by shells also not very pleasant experience. So I think about Robot API as only possible solution, but I am not familiar with it possibilities.

Is it possible to make something like Autodesk Composite Beam Design Extension using API? The same workflow, but only for Slim Beams.

Hi @Anonymous

This girder slab system check this link http://www.girder-slab.com/homepage.asp

and you can also use their excel sheet to verify your beams I will attach to you this references hope that will help you.

Anyway I think this profiles is under special sections in RSA and it could be verified by PN code.

Thank You, for trying to help.

I didn't check that excel sheet yet, but I think it will design beams by american code and I need eurocode. It is not a big deal to create one by myself, but design each beam from 200 is quite time consuming. I need some automation.

And if you mean PN-EN code, Robot does not make all necessary checks for such type of profiles no matter which part of EN code used. Also if slim beam sections not created in section builder, Robot even doesn't show stresses for such profiles.

So, the question about API possibilities still open....

Dear Sir,

An alternative to design Slim floor as per Eurocodes try The ArcelorMittal COSFB software and explore this page:

Composite solutions

Best regards,

Hi @Anonymous

Composite beams Columns Design such This development is really needed to be implemented in RSA.

Thank You for advice. There are also ABC tool at Arcelor website, which could design non-composite slim beams, but they doesn't have all necessary checks also. I think, this tools are good for preliminary design.

mustafahesenow

Absolutely. Besides it is not something special in real world construction.

Hi @Anonymous

I really dont know why RSA having difficulty to implement on design the composite members its really not hard .
