Shell Creation From Multiple Arcs With Internal Point Method - Inconsistent Unexpected FE Mesh Curves

Hi,

I tried to create a hyperbolic paraboloid with 4 similar arcs, I used panel creation with internal point method and the panel seems fine but when I want to calculate it with FE mesh, mesh has unexpected additional curves unlike the original panel shape. Is there a way to fix this issue or it may be a SW bug? (I also tried to create curved geometries with extrude operator from arcs for comparison and it is working fine, mesh seems consistent)

It is not a project specific issue and it can be reproducible for similar shapes. Changing dimensions or mesh element size have no effect on the results.

Kindly provide input.

hi @umut.akparlar

You should read this topic:

Here’s a short video based on an example similar to yours, and I don’t see any meshing issues except those caused by excessive curvature of the primary arcs. It is sometimes essential that arcs, divided into consecutive segments, all maintain the same plane, center and radius. This is exactly what SplitArcs does. Additionally, to perfectly control the curvature at the center, you should consider splitting your panel into four parts.
