HI  ,, Can any body kindly help me to solve my problem .. First of all I started modeled a flat slab using Revit where the slab will be only supported on the columns and an edge beam will only attached at the slab edges but when I start do run for analysis the program stops responding ,, so can you help me to solve this problem and I will attach the rvt file ,,

with my great respect and thx to you allCapture.JPG

Fortunately you attached the Robot rtd file.

You exported the Revit analytical model directly to Robot . Is that correct??

Did you try to "correct" the analytical model in Revit  before sending it to Robot??

I could only mesh the slab only if I move it from its real level ,disconnected from everything else . Then mesh gets ready in 5 secs.

But on it´s real level there are many geometrical imprecisions mainly on the curved sections where beam discretization is much finer than that of slab panel as you can see below

imprecision geometrical.jpg

Also in the picture above ,there are problems with rigid links also created by Revit that are only 2cm apart linking the Columm top node to the same bar.

All your curved edge bars have this problem . The mesh is not reaching them ,or worse , some are overreaching the bars covering them by a little (see pic below) ,which will produce one billion nodes mesh. I unsuccessfully waited almost for 1 hour to mesh.

Also , I would recommend using Delaunay mesh method ,unticking regular mesh.

To fix all this ,I don´t know where you are better at , Revit or Robot???

If on Revit , try to correct the analytical model there and see if it gets better.

If the model was mine I would forget REvit and try to fix everything inside Robot. But that´s me.

Do you have any practice in RSA??

Also , did you try sending it to the "cloud" to perform the structural analysis inside Revit??

Hi @Anonymous ,

I would redefine the slab panel contour and also the crcular/arc openings , snapping only to the bar nodes .This way I will be sure that the nodes of the curved series of bars have the exact same coordinate of the panel/openings charateristic points guaranteeing a better chance of a sucessful mesh.

It´s very likely that other problems will arise ,but getting a good slab mesh it is surely the start of everything that has to be fixed

But , alternatively ,as said by autodesk , performing analysis on the cloud directly from Revit would have the advantage of using a much better computer than the best available home PC.

So I would love to see what the autodesk cloud computer together with the REVIT native structure analysis is able to do with this model . Maybe it can resolve the mesh in a few seconds!!!

I already tried that but also the Revit cloud cant respond where a message appears telling me that an error had been detected ... By the I am good in Both Revit an robot and I will try to modify the model as you say using Robot cuz its the best choice

Great thx to you @Rafacascudo for your time that you gave me to find a solution to my prob.

ok, let us know the outcome.

meanwhile , can you send the revit model?

yeah of coarse @Rafacascudo ,, here I make some solutions for the slab where I try to divide it to number of patterns but still when I send it to robot this message appears to me which shown in the attached pic.1.JPG

Hi @Eng.LuayTareq

Looking at Robot model , hints: Arcs, Arcs, Arcs, (Circles) and accuracy

Slab \ wall arcs  divisions must be equal to curved beam (located in the same place) division

See webinar 10, slide 37
