Rigid Links not working

Hi,

I have a couple of problems with my model;

 - Firstly, when I have pinned-pinned floor beams supported by a pinned support it results in an instability type 1, whereas when I change it to a fixed base there are no instabilities and it is still showing simply supported behaviour. Is this correct?

 - Also two of my edge beams are failing under minor axis bending caused from wind loading on the beams. I have assigned rigid links to the first floor but it is not making any difference. How do I get the rigid links to work correctly?

Thanks

Andrew

1- Yes it is correct. You cannot release rotations on a bar end if this end is supported by a pinned support.

2- Rigid links is about nodes. It will not make rigid a bar length. Create new nodes along the bar length and link them to your master node.In the picture below I divided your edge bars in 5 equal pieces and added these additional nodes to the slave nodes list using the rigid links table
