RETAINING WALL + FOUNDATION MODELLING - HELP

Hello,

I need to model the retaining wall shown in picture.

How would you model it? Please provide a couple of options.

I need to check stability against overturning and sliding plus

calculate the whole reinforced concrete cross-section.

Hi @Javi1988 ,

I've only designed a few retaining walls but from what I realized using two perpendicular panels is the most optimal way to model it. The other major issue is simply adding hydro-static and soil loads which are all available in the loads drop-down. As for your checks I would suggest looking over this topic;

For you specifically you should look into rotation and sliding but I found the topic very helpful during my analysis.

Hi Javi,

I am not sure FE packages are the most effective way to design simple retaining walls. I have done it before and I find it extremely time consuming.

You can find simple softs that allow quick retaining wall design (TEKLA Tedds, etc...).
