RC beam design (required reinforcement ) -EC2

Dear Colleagues ;

I am trying to calculate the required longitudinal reinforcement for simply supported beam according to EC2 requirements .

1. Why does Robot calculate the provided reinforcement based on the total reinforcement amount( bottom plus top ) at any section on the beam (Pls take a look to attached capture) . Since the EC2 (Clause 9.2.1.1(3) ) asked to check the maximum amount of reinforcement for tension and compression separately ?

2. May I know that the changing value of (Young modulus of elasticity for concrete " Job preferences" )(e.g from 30000 Mpa to 10000 Mpa) doesn't show any changes in the analysis and design results? . It should effect on stiffness of structural elements , is it ?

This clause is currently supported in the RC Beam design module but not in the RC Member required reinforcement one.

and design results?

In the RC Design modules E is calculated based on strength of concrete and corresponding design code formula.

How to change the concrete type. When I try to edit the Material proprieties it is blocked. Thanks

Do you want to change it for a bar or for design of reinforcement only? Could you attach a screen capture showing what is blocked please?

I am trying to calculate the quasi-permanent deflections for a beam. I have introduced the geometry, the actual reinforcement, loads but cannot change the concrete type. It is blocked to C20 for some reason. Also - are the combinations made automatically using all the provided loads? Please see attached the model and a screen shot. Regards Dan

Is it possible to specify the exposure class?
