"Attempted to access an unnamed file past its end"

Hello,

I keep receiving an error message that says "Attempted to access an unnamed file past its end" whenever I want to save the Robot model or create new geometry. I can't seem to find a solution for this error. At first I just ignored the message because it didn't seem to cause any problems but now I am encountering issues when I save the file. After saving, I will reopen it and some of the wall panels will randomly be missing and nodes will be left over in the panel's place that I have to manually delete. I will redraw the panels and then save and close the program and reopen it and the same thing will happen again. Has anyone else encountered this problem and found a solution to it?

Thanks in advance,

Lauren

Hi @Anonymous

Assuming you open a file from a network location try to copy it to your local drive first and open it from there. Then save it locally after making changes and then copy it to the network drive as it seems that you are loosing the connection with your network drive while working with a model.

Hi @Artur.Kosakowski,

Thanks for your response. Currently I am saving it to a flash drive that is plugged into my computer but I have also saved it to the hard drive on my computer and have run into the same issue.

Hi @Anonymous

Had you actually opened it from the hard drive or from other location and then tried to save to your hard drive?

If yes, make sure you:

- have enough disc space

- have the rights to save in this location

You may also delete Windows temporary files (%temp% folder) first.

To avoid that message open file in "Repair Mode" in a  lower version of Robot. It often happens when we open files made in a higher version using a lower version of  Robot.  The best version reading all higher formats is 2015 - what was confirmed by many users of this forum.
