Hi Guys,

Just checking RSA has any updates regarding Progressive Collapse Analysis. is there any way of taking out elements after analysis and doing sequence analysis after taking elements?

Thanks,

Ray

Use "phases" on geometry menu , if it is just deleting members/panels you need

Thanks Rafael,

Phases allow you to put one behind the other one? The idea with progressive collapse is to have the element and with the results of a phase with the element done, then use this as a starter phase for the second phase without the element. Are the phases chronological in some way? or are just separate phases?

Thanks

There are no time effects due to concrete aging , etc

Displacements from one phase not taken in account in the following one as a starting state.

Linear combinations between load cases from different phases can be done.

Many threads on this forum about phases analysis. Search it to learn the best practices and tips

Thanks Rafael,  linear combination if not an option if we are doing a progressive collapse. The stresses and displacement created on the structure by the loads on the full structure (with all the elements) create highly non linear behavior. I check the link of phases you send me and it is a really powerful tool but it seems that doesn't work for this case. Thanks.
