Problems applying properties to modified objects

Hi,

I am modelling a hopper type structure and have created the shape by creating a circle object and then by using substructure modification I have extruded and scaled it to create the shape as shown. I now am trying to apply a 400mm thick wall to this but I cannot get the property to attach to the panel.

Any Ideas?

Many thanks,

Jonathan

Hi Rafal,

Thanks for your video. Unfortunately this doesn't quite solve the problem.

If I use the cone option under the objects tab it combines the sides and base as a single element. From what I can tell I can't change these properties independantly from each other and I can't remove say the base/roof of the cone and leave the walls (sides) only?

Is it not possible to apply properties to elements that are created using the substructure modification? I can successfully create the profile using revolve tools but in terms of applying the properties and meshing the slab I am not sure how this is best done.

I decided to play around turned on the "Mark with colours/thickness - legend by colours" The slab now highlights in green indicating that a 200 thk element has been applied....but there is nothing in the properties dialogue to confirm this (see images attached). I ran an analysis and it successfully completed implying that the property was correctly applied, and when I check the base pressure plot it confirms that this property is applied.

I'm thinking that this is a graphical issue with the software?

Many thanks,

Jonathan
