Dear all,
I would like to ask some questions about the use of the timber classes defined according to UNI EN 338. I would like to know how is the Poisson's ration calculated. For any class, the value of 0.0001 is defined. It seems that is only a way to not input a zero value since it is not accepted in the calculations. So is this material considered orthotopic or are simplifications and it is considered isotropic? Which theory is it used? What is the relation between E, G, and v?
Thank you for paying attention,
Regards,
Alfredo
