One way distribution of a deck slab on 4 beams

Hi everybody,

I'm having a little experience with robot and i don't understand the result. Someone can maybe help me?

Here is what I'm doing:

- I'm drawing a simple structure 4 RC columns / 4 RC beams (5m spans) / 1 Deck slab and only applying the self weight.

- I'm releasing the nodes of my beams to make them independant and draw the bending moment without the slab for the moment. I obtain my p.l²/8 value for each beam.

For the moment everything seems ok.

The problem comes after this step:

- I draw now my Deck slab (One way distributed). Surprise! The bending moments on my beams where the slab doesn't lay on is reduced about half of what it was...

Someone can explain me what happened?

Thank you,

Mathias.

Waouh' Napooil, you were right it's working!

But what means "no finite elements" for the elastic stiffness? Which solution is the most representative of the reality? And which one do I have to use everyday when i'm working on concrete structures?

Have a nice day,

Mathias.

these are the default "curtain wall" type settings which make a panel work like a regular cladding.
