New user several questions - Reactions, Results Plan View, Select Design Groups, etc.

I searched through the forums and found a few threads some with no response for some of my questions.

1. Is there a way to look at a plan view when viewing results, the view and plan tabs shown when modeling geometry disappear when switching to results?

2. Is there a way to see the results for each ULS load combination, the drop down menu only allows the selection of ULS, ULS+, and ULS-?

3. For steel structures we need to document beam end reactions for delegated connection designs, is there a way to show beam end reactions in the results?

6. I have set several design groups for members in the steel design section, is there a way to select members by design group?

There are several UI windows that have Add or Close buttons that appear to do nothing when clicked, this is proving to be very frustrating.

Hi @DonBAE

Ad1

Use View >Projection >Xy (Ctrl+Alt+2) option

Ad2

Select ULS then select combination component.

Nodal forces are presented in Results>Forces table

I am using Right mouse button >Tables>Members and Code Groups table . On Code groups tab there is a list of groups with member lists. I am using copy paste to select members by this lists.

Ad1:

changing to the XY projection seems to work, will need to test this with a multi-story building, although bar result diagrams don't appear to show in this view.

Ad2:

Wait so are the results displayed by default when selecting ULS not envelope results? So for envelope results we should look at ULS+ and ULS-?

ad3:

That works when the nodes are supports, but for steel structures the Beam supports can be either other beams or columns, currently it seems the only way to get this information from robot is to look at the bar shear diagrams.

@Krzysztof_Wasik appreciate your response, very helpful.

Yes in View mode forces are displayed in local system of coordinates (following corresponding member local planes)

If you want to see all forces in plan view you have to use Geometry>Plan layout and activate Results >Diagrams for bars (or other type of results).

Ad2 SLS/ULS cases presents automatic combinations components (you can select component by Select component option), ULS+-/SLS+- and ULS SLS Code combinations (selected from drop down list)present envelopes.

Ad3 Meaning of internal forces presented in results table (for beam end nodes) is the same regardless if beam is supported by another beam, column or support. I do not see any difference. If you expect different (special) type of reporting it is not available in Robot.

Ad3: (I need to work on my reading comprehension) missed that you indicated this was a table, I see it now thank you for that.
