Model file grown to huge size

Hi

While I have been editing an average size model the size of the RTD file has swollen from 11Mb to 108Mb and ofcourse at the same time become very sluggish and slow.

I do regularily save the file under a new name but this does not reduce the size.

I have done a save as "RTD without results" but that did not reduce the size.

I tried opening in repair mode - which helped only litle because the file only got reduced to 50Mb

Can anyone advise me what the problem is and how i get it down to 11Mb again.

Most of the model is only bars so that should not produce a huge filesize. But I introduced some panels only for load distribution. I am bit suspicious that perhaps som cracy meshing is going on in the background which I am not aware of.

Just to be clear, you have to save it without results AND with a new name.
Another thing that takes a lot o space is screenshot

Thanks for your reply, but as I said in my first email i do regularly save with a new name and also as RTD without results. I just tried again just now and it makes no difference whatsoever. Only went from 115.9 to 114.9Mb. So there must be some other issue.

I have not taken any screenshots nor worked with any results. I am simply modelling in geometrical mode, doing some simple changes to a model and while I do this it grows from 11Mb to 115Mb. I do not understand what goes on and it makes the model very slow and difficult to work with.

Thanks, perhaps this is the problem.

I have not yet been able to delete them because the program stops the responding when the load mode. Physical memory usage grows to 99%.

Is there a way to delete them without going to a mode which freezes the program.

How have these loads been created. I have not even been inside the load mode while editing the model - so these loads are somehow generated automatically by the program.

Okay, now I found that I can open the load table without going to the load mode. So now I have the table and can see the loads.

But to identify which one to delete and how to delete them is not a small task. Perhaps I should just delete all.

I can open the load table and see all the unwanted load components. But as far as I can see I am not alowed to delete rows in the table. I still have to go into this load mode which makes the program freeze supposedly as it tries to load all these loads graphichally

How to i delet the loads.

Must I simple delete all the entire loadcases from the pulldown menu at the top ? It is quite annoying to have to redo all the loads - just because robot corrupted them. What if it happens again?

What are the actual loads you defined in cases 1, 3 and 4. Are they just self-weight applied to the entire model in the Z, X and Y directions with corresponding factors plus uniform load applied to panels in the same manner?

Have you built your model by coping its part via clipboard?

I have attached an earlier version of the model(25) before I started the editing which has corrupted the model so badly.

Loads are:

- autogenerated selfweigth,

- dead load as panel loads,

- some deadload as point loads,

- live load as panelloads,

- some live load as pointloads

- and then two loadcases for X and Y with accidental loads which takes a certain percentage and adds it as horisontal load.

Yes I used some copy function when I created the gallery in level 6 which I have not yet added a panel to.I copied it from level 6+ and then modified it inplace

Is there some bug in the copy function?
