Meshing in Shells

Hi,

I'm fairly new to RSA and I'm trying to model a circular shaft with an opening. I want to model the shaft as a shell, but when I try to mesh the object, the inside of the shell, where it should be hollow, is also getting meshed. Any idea on what I'm doing wrong here?

Thanks,

N. Simon

Hi @Anonymous ,

Unfortunately, that meshing "issue" is a by product of Robot meshing extruded closed looped profiles.  The way to get around it is to MESH FREEZE and then manually delete the unwanted mesh. After doing that, even if you have to re-mesh again, the mesh should stay as you wanted it.

Hope it helps.

Hi @EduardoMeruvia ,

That makes sense. So if i extrude two half circles instead of a closed circular loop, my issue goes away.

Thanks a bunch!
