Mesh refinement and element size

Hello everyone!

Here I am once again! This time I'm working on a new project and I'm finding it difficult to control the mesh and to get the data I want.

Here's the thing, this project is composed by slabs and walls, no beams, and only 2 columns. When I try to define the mesh I can't get it large enough and thin enough where I want. As you can see from the pictures below, I want to refine the slab on top of the 2 columns inserting 2 emmiters, but I don't need this refinement on the whole slab, which makes my model complicated to analyze and harder to process.

In pictures number 4 and 5 you can see how exagerated my mesh is (it's way too thin!), but when I apply method in picture 5 nothing seems to change...

I would be very thankful if anyone can help me with this!

Thanks in advance

Hi,

You may consider:

- creating smaller panels with smaller element sizes in the location you need denser meshes

- run mesh refinement for selected surface (mesh) elements

- play with the marked parameters after setting Delaunay and Kang method
