Mesh manipulation

To whom it may concern,

 

I am having trouble manipulating the mesh for a model i have created. Everytime i want to remesh the software freezes. At the moment the mesh is unsymetrical therefore my results are too. I have attached the model. The problem area is the mesh around the pipe entry in the shaft. Could you please advice ?

Every time I try to change the mesh I get this:

Crash should not appear on v.2015

It is recommeneded not to overlap panels , especially not overlap arcs with different discretization.
